Production Planner/Master Scheduler

Position: Production Planner/Master Scheduler

Location: Mountain View, CA


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create a rolling 12-month Master Production Plan for products. Utilize the production capacity, taking into consideration the sales forecast, historical sales, and new business opportunities
  • Conducts weekly scheduling meeting to review previous production performance and to gain alignment around future production requirements.
  • Perform supply demand analysis each quarter, highlighting areas of concern for the next 12 months
  • Make delivery commitments to Sales and corporation for products
  • Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis
  • Maintain finished goods and spares inventory at target levels in ensure high service levels
  • Ensure coordination with contract manufacturing partners to execute Production Plan on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including a metric on production performance to the requested production schedule
  • Review sales forecast with business on a monthly basis, and suggest modifications consistent with knowledge of current or historical demand.
  • Monitor and publish key performance indicators for production output
  • At a minimum, conduct readiness meetings on New Products as well as revision changes to the product
  • Manage the Deviation/ECN/Purge processes with the CM partner

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or other related degree
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, and 3 + years in manufacturing production planning or master production scheduling
  • Proficiency with creating and using spreadsheets, and using work-related software to the fullest capabilities
  • Basic understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and of ERP systems
  • Program or project management experience a plus
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills.
  • APICS certification, Inventory Control, and experience preferred
  • Strong sense of urgency
