Software Engineer- Infrastructure

At Bossa Nova we create service robots for the global retail industry. Our robots’ mission is to make large scale stores run efficiently by automating the collection and analysis of on-shelf inventory data. We drive autonomously through aisles, navigating safely among customers and store associates. If we were a self- driving car we’d be operating at level 5 autonomy.

Oh, we should add, it’s real, happening today, you can meet our robots in some of the world’s biggest retailers.

Position: Infrastructure Engineer -Robot Platform

Location: Pittsburgh

Responsibilities

• Develop workflows to provision robots using a combination of configuration management (Ansible) and secrets management (Hashicorp Vault) tools
• Build and maintain embedded deployment of Kubernetes
• Build and maintain tools for OTA updates of containerized software and data assets
• Build and maintain cloud-based containerized applications related to management of fleet of robots
• Develop and validate capacity plans for supporting infrastructure
• Collaborate with various teams to maintain robot security
• Develop test automation scripts
• Design and build physical and software continuous integration systems

Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of Linux
• Experience with Ansible or similar configuration management tool
• Good knowledge of containers and at least one orchestration system, with a strong preference for Kubernetes
• Proficiency with Python, and at least a working knowledge of Java
• Experience with Azure, or at least one of the other big three cloud providers
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL data stores, particularly cloud based
• Experience with secrets management
• Experience with logging, monitoring and tracing tools
• Working knowledge of PKI and security best practices

Desirable:

• Prior experience in robotics
• Prior experience with microservices architectures
