Systems Test Lead - Advanced Development

Systems Test Lead – Advanced Development

Location: Mountain View CA


  • Test and verify complex mechanical systems including components such as PCs, sensors, embedded systems, optical systems, custom cables
  • Plan and document verification activities for complex robotic systems and various components, both manual and automatic
  • Create test methods, fixtures and tools to execute on verification activities
  • Interact with technical and design leads across the product including SW, Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware
  • Lead a team performing Systems Verification activities, including coordination with outside resources
  • Establish and track budgets for major activities and for outside work
  • Support product transition from engineering to outside contract manufacturers
  • Document and track all verification activities including verification requirements, planning, procedures, test results, bug/issues resolution and configuration for the item tested


  • Minimum Degree: BS in Mechanical, Electrical, SW, Robotics or Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years in product development and product level testing in a production environment
  • 3+ years of leading Systems Test and Verification activities or equivalent
  • Familiar with product development processes for Systems Test and Verification, including requirements, verification planning, procedure writing and review, and test reporting.
  • Familiar with BOM tools and revision tools including writing ECOs
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble complex electro-mechanical assemblies and optical assemblies per drawings and production procedures
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical assemblies and optical assemblies including root cause analysis
  • Experience with EMI/ESD testing and associated techniques and tools
  • Experience in bring-up and testing of sensors (e.g., LIDAR, sonar, sensors) employed on robots preferred
  • Strong test development skills – Python, LabVIEW, Java, Perl, etc in a Linux environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deliverables against schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a hardware and software team and bridge the gap between experts operating in different areas of robotics
  • HALT and HASS experience preferred
  • Background in statistical analysis preferred
  • Systems engineering experience preferred
  • US work authorization
  • Travel 5-10% including overseas travel
