Technical Services Manager

At Bossa Nova we create service robots for the global retail industry. Our robots’ mission is to make large scale stores run efficiently by automating the collection and analysis of on-shelf inventory data. We drive autonomously through aisles, navigating safely among customers and store associates. If we were a self- driving car we’d be operating at level 5 autonomy.

What you'll be doing:

The Technical Services Manager combines their technical knowledge of robots, software, and process with their organizational, program management, and leadership skills to run a team that is responsible for setting up robots at customer sites to run production missions.  This person will manage a team of individuals performing the following responsibilities:



  • Assembles robots at customer sites
  • Tests robots after reassembly at customer sites.
  • Performs store mapping at customer sites.
  • Uses software tools and processes to configure robot to send data to the customer.
  • Performs QA to ensure quality delivery of data to the customer.
  • Fixes issues with configurations to increase quality.
  • Utilize Best Practices to accurately and efficiently deliver running robots at customer sites.
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations by delivering on customers business requirements within the "Scope of Work" agreed to by Bossa Nova and the Customer.
  • Effectively troubleshoot technical issues and come up with solutions to problems.
  • Researches, evaluates and incorporates new technology and tools to enhance the store, robot, and mapping processes.
  • Assists in the development and improvement of workflows, requirements and testing plans.
  • Actively creates and manages customer rollout plans.
  • Hire and train Services Consultants who will be actively engaged as part of the store setup team.


  • Experience with linux particular ubuntu required.
  • Understands the use of lidar in mapping and how to spot errors in data.
  • Some exposure to robotics and a willingness to learn more is a nice to have.
  • Has demonstrable experience working remotely to help guide and troubleshoot work in the field.
  • Has some program management experience, coordinating work and schedules for staff.
  • Must be willing to travel, especially early on.
