SLAM Engineer

At Bossa Nova we create service robots for the global retail industry. Our robots’ mission is to make stores run efficiently by automating the collection and analysis of on-shelves inventory data in large scale stores. Navigating smoothly along the aisles, we circulate autonomously among busy customers and employees. Yep, it is possible to move, scan and analyze all at the same time. It is not that simple though and we rely on computer vision, 3D image processing and deep learning techniques to accomplish our mission.

Position: SLAM Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA


  • BS or MS in Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics (or equivalent relevant work experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in writing robust, well tested, production-quality code in C++
  • Extensive experience designing and/or Improving SLAM systems
  • Practical experience with iterative development, software version control systems and testing
  • Strong software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design
  • Proven track record working on all stages of the software development life cycle
  • Fluent with a Linux development environment, Ubuntu preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to learn quickly
  • Experience with Robotics programming environments and systems

Nice to Haves:

Practical experience in writing robust, well tested, production-quality code in Python
