IT Support Technician


At Bossa Nova we create service robots for the global retail industry. Our robots’ mission is to make large scale stores run efficiently by automating the collection and analysis of on-shelf inventory data. We drive autonomously through aisles, navigating safely among customers and store associates. If we were a self- driving car we’d be operating at level 5 autonomy.

Qualifications:

Are you a IT Support Technician that has a great understanding of linux, networking, servers and hardware?  If you are then you may want to consider combining those skills with learning new ones in robotics.  At the heart of any robotics system is the same hardware, operating systems, and software that you monitor and support today.  

The Robotics IT Support Technician must have good technical knowledge of linux, networking, and hardware and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer-oriented as this role will interface with both our customers and our internal technical staff.  

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
  • Perform remote troubleshooting of linux, network, and hardware.
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Record events and problems in our ticketing system (JIRA experience a plus)
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures


Requirements

  • Proven experience (3 years) in a IT Support or similar support role.
  • Knowledge of Linux, TCP/IP Networking, monitoring, and hardware.
  • Ability to learn how to apply traditional IT support and monitoring to robotics.
  • Able to diagnose, replicate, and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented
  • BS/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field
